Junior Olympics because I enjoy interacting with children and being able to see how spirited all the kids are while they compete in different races and obstacle courses. It is really fun to watch. There is also alot to help out with at this event and it's sponsored by our very own La Jolla Kiwanis for the schools in their community!

GOOD QUESTION. My favorite service projects are soup kitchens. To me, they feel the most rewarding because you can clearly see that you are making a difference in their lives. Then again, I have never been to Tijuana to build houses yet, and that is probably EVEN MORE rewarding!

Relay for Life, as it was fun getting to hang out with the members at the event, to walk the track, and to make shaved ice. This day was also memorable because I spontaneously decided to donate my hair for the first time, so that was fun, too! There's also Boys and Girls Club, in which you play games and hang out with kids; some of them can be very active and attached to you, which is cute.

My favorite service project is Reality Changers. I really enjoy interacting with the high schoolers there that are attempting to be first generation college students. Tutoring them is fulfilling, listening to them is entertaining, and hearing their stories is inspiring. Moreover, wonderful homemade food is also served for volunteers every time which is fantastic. I highly reccommend this service project.

My favorite service project is building houses in Tijuana because it's a bit of a culture shock, hard labor, and a sense of accomplishment. Plus, the families cook food that probably cost their whole week's worth of salary, and they cry with gratitude when we leave. It's the strongest evidence of direct impact I've yet seen.

Desired Superpower?
I wish I could be able to instantaneously create designs in my head and have them pop up right next to me. I am usually bombarded with so many innovative ideas that would take quite a long period of time to actualize and I wish that they could somehow be done in a blink of an eye, but that's impractical. To sum it up, I would like to have the power of ... realistic creativity production? Hopefully there will be a name for this one day. :)

My favorite service project would be Tuan's WLSSP, where we built homes for families in Tijuana, Mexico. I never imagined that I'd ever travel to Mexico or build a house, yet I did both at the same time, all while enjoying delicious Mexican food and re-learning Spanish. I loved it so much because it was the most hands-on project I've ever experienced and the family we built the house for was so welcoming and grateful for what we did.
