It's that time of the year again! Our annual High School conference is upon us! Key to College is a conference in which we put together a variety of workshops to educate high schoolers in the greater San Diego area, run by college students... US!

If you feel like you have expertise in taking the SATs or can pass on some knowledge in applying to college to our younger San Diegian homeslices, apply to be a workshop host!

Due to some requests the deadline for the Key 2 College Workshop Host Applications has been extended to January 23 at 11:59 PM! PLEASE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS CONTACT darren.k2c@gmail.com. The application can be found at : Key to College Host Application!

Elections are coming up soon for President, VP Admin, VP Service, Secretary, and Treasurer! Our week 3 & 4 GBM will be nominations and week 5 will be elections (where candidates will be giving their speeches and paid members can vote). All other appointed-board positions will be released through application later on. If you have ANY interest, it is highly recommended that you talk to the board member that currently has that position.

Are you are somewhat interested in E-board or A-board? Or are you just curious to what board does? Come to one of our open board meetings to see what board does behind the scenes! We will also be having a mini "Q&A" section at the end where you can ask any board member questions about their position. This is the perfect way to get informed on what each position does or to just get to know the board members a little more. Everyone is welcome!

Hello, everyone! I hope you're all having an amazing Winter break so far and now is the time to rest up after finals! I sincerely apologize for not having the Fall Quarter recap video available at the GBM due to exporting difficulties. Can you believe it is week 10 already? This quarter went by so fast! Now come out to our last GBM and celebrate the end of an amazing quarter with Circle K. We will be having a Snack Swap. If you bring a snack you will be able to trade it for another snack, you'll never know what you'll get. The location will be at WLH 2204 and we will be starting at 8pm. There will be alot to look forward to at this GBM. We will be having a Fall quarter video recap and many special guest visiting along with much more. Don't miss it!
Right before GBM, we will be having pre-meeting dinner at Canyon Vista Dining Hall! Come help us write letters to Santa. For every letter written, Macy will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish Foundation.

It's Finally Here!
The Kiwanis Family Liaison Application!

Well...what exactly is the Kiwanis Liaison Application?

Basically, since there are a multitude of Kiwanis Family clubs (from numerouse key club divisions down to cute little k-kids) and there is only one Kiwanis Family chair, the Kiwanis Family Liaisons act as intermediaries between the Kfam Chair (That's me!) and all the other Kiwanis Family Clubs besides Circle K's and Kiwanis Clubs.

There are many positions you can apply for (check the application for specifics). The application itself is NOT long, and gives information about the Liaisons as well as the different committees for Kiwanis Family events. The questions themselves are not hard either!

Also included on this application are Committee Applications. Bigger Events like Key 2 College and the Kiwanis Shadow Program need some committed chairs in charge of certain aspects of the event. In addition to these, you can also fill up interest for KFam Competition, a competition between the Kiwanis Family Club, and Kiwanis Takeover, our Fundraiser with our sponsoring Kiwanis club.

Hey there Circle K!

This is your friendly neighborhood Kiwanis Family Chair, Deen !

Our sister club, SDSU Circle K, is undertaking their annual service project called Embrace the Street, which is a week long project in which they collect blankets and clothing for homeless men, women, and children as the colder weather of winter settles in. This year, they asked for our help to get more clothes donated. They are also requesting any feminine items, like pads, etc.
Then, this Saturday, we and SDSU will distribute the clothing and blankets to the homeless downtown.

I know that as college students, we tend to bring the minimum and what is necessary, but if you happen to have any clothes that you don't find, or even see yourself wearing, someone else can definitely put a use to it. Let your friends know as well!

Once again, we're looking for clothing, blankets and feminine products.

Here are the times and drop off times and points:

Wed: 11AM-5PM (SSC 300)
Thurs: 11AM-3PM (SSC 300)
Friday: 11AM-4PM (Red Shoe Room in Sungod Lounge)

PTP helps in the prevention and treatment of accidental injuries amongst children.

Hi everyone!

It was a great first day of tabling and thank you to everyone who came out and supported our club!<3 We'll be tabling all of this week and next week so please do come out when you can :)

On that note, I just wanted to point out that I have uploaded a document that outlines the Basics of Tabling. Check out the MD&E Committee page under "RESOURCES" for the link. Definitely look it over to brush up on your tabling skills :)

2011 Fall Training Conference(FTC) is only two months away on November 4-6! There's a couple of important dates and also opportunities for everyone to get involved!

You can contribute as leaders at FTC is by becoming a workshop host. There are many different workshops you can lead or even co-host. You can also suggest a workshop topic that you can lead as well! For those who have not led a workshop before, there will be info-sessions and a workshop host manual to help give you more information and tips on how to host a workshop.

Info-session will be held on Sept. 14 at 9pm. Check out the Facebook event: here

Do you know how to DJ? The FTC Committee is also looking for a student DJ for the traditional Saturday night dance at FTC! If you or anyone you know is interested, please them to the application on the link at the bottom of the page. If they get chosen to DJ for the event, they will have their FTC registration ($111) covered!

DJ applications are due Sept. 30 at 11:59pm Check out the Facebook event: here

Members can also participate in FTC through talent acts and skits. If you have any special talents or skills you'd like to share, you should show them off at FTC! You can also become involved in any skits (skits are not limited to the club, you may have a divisional skit or a skit with one or more other clubs).

Hello everyone! We'll all be back in San Diego faster than you know it and then school starts all over again :o So, with a new year means new potential members and WELCOME WEEK!

All of the tabling events are now up on the calendar and we'll be tabling for Welcome Week (Week 0) and Week 1! Please come out and help us recruit new members for the new year! When you sign up, comment with when you'll be able to come out and help.

Also, there's one more thing you guys need to know. Onestop only assigned us a Tabling Block for Tuesday & Thursday for both weeks. So, if you plan on coming out on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday please meet in front of the Silent Tree to help hand out club cards.

Hi, the Scrapbook Committee page has been updated after our beautiful new website has been up! Check back for committee meeting dates and updates on scrapbook anytime during Fall Quarter :)
